J Rain holds a JD/MBA from Case Western Reserve University Law School, complementing his extensive legal and business expertise. He practices from his solo firm based in Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii, with a focus on business law and private escrow.

Rain Law Firm has been dedicated for over 15 years to representing businesses at various growth stages. The Business Law practice is well-established in acquisitions, joint ventures, investment agreements, entity formation, and particularly, franchise transactions including purchases, transfers, and providing specialized escrow services. This focus ensures meticulous oversight and comprehensive support for each client’s unique needs.

In Real Estate Law, the firm offers seasoned guidance through residential distressed property transactions, contract negotiation, investor support, and private escrow services, ensuring clients navigate these complex dealings with confidence.

J’s tenure at IBM in the Mergers and Acquisitions legal department involved pivotal roles in the integration of major acquisitions such as FileNet, among others. He contributed to the business case development, due diligence, and the strategic integration of partners, suppliers, and customers, with a notable focus on contract migration.

​Additionally, in his Business Development role at IBM, J authored strategic plans to enhance the utilization of IBM’s Intellectual Property and commercialize new technologies developed for the US Government.

As an entrepreneur, J co-founded and developed a marketing analytics consulting firm, leading it to significant annual revenues and a robust employee base until its acquisition in 2001.
