Sonja Elizabeth Jacobsen

In 9/12 I found myself having to deal with CPS and the criminal courts because of some horrible life choices I had made. I was appointed an attorney by the court to represent me in the CPS case. Sonja came to the jail and spent almost an hour with me the very first time we met. Many, many hours since... and that does not account for answering well over 300 emails, (although not recommended). She didn’t make me feel like a loser or less than. She told me I was a person that had made some poor choices. From that moment on she helped me formulate a plan on how to change the future for myself and my kids. Ms. Jacobson has been patient and understanding with me at times that I don’t think many people would have been. In the court room when I thought things were not going well, Sonja would ruffle through some papers produce what was needed and change the course in such a way I always knew she had mine and my kids best interest at the center of what was being done. I am not always the easiest person to deal with, but with a firm hand on what she knew needed to be done, Ms. Jacobson got me through a very difficult time. By following the plan that she helped me to layout, I now have my children back in my life and things are on the mend. I am forever grateful for the strength and wisdom she showed while she represented this grouchy old biker.
