After several hours of sitting in a courtroom awaiting arraignment earlier this week (a courtroom packed with many individuals whose lack of respect for the law and for the efforts Mr. Germano was unfortunately more than apparent), Mr. Germano (exhausted as he may have been), conducted himself with a... dynamic professionalism and concern for each and every individual facing charges that afternoon. No one was treated simply as a number. He had thoroughly prepared each case and, I believe, was deserving of a sincere "thank you" from every single individual whose case he presented before the Honorable Commissioner Ball. Mr. Germano, you are a cherished asset to your profession; you are fighting the good fight. One can never know when they might end up on the wrong side of the law. Should one ever find them self in such a situation as mine (I am a relative stranger to the criminal justice system), they should count them self extremely fortunate to be shepherded by the experience, wisdom and compassion of a man such as this. Mr. Germano is an exemplary human being, a tireless advocate for the rights of the accused, and a devoted professional whose skills should never be overlooked. A consummate professional in every respect as a practitioner of the law, my personal thanks go to you, Mr. Germano. My arraignment was, I believe, the second-to-last of some thirty or forty such motions. Mr. Germano, a sharp, attentive and righteous man, saw to it that I was accorded a level or personal dignity and regard that I did not expect. Bravo, Mr. Germano: you have restored my faith in the system. While you may feel at times that your work goes unappreciated, I assure you that nothing could be further from the truth. Thank you again for regarding my case (and every other case that you've handled) as a matter of personal liberty and not merely an impersonal matter of expediting case numbers. You do great honor to your cause and the criminal justice system.
