I went to trial with a private attorney who I later learned had just come out of the public defenders office. For many reasons that were outlined in a complaint tothe BAR I felt the trial attorney represeentation of me was "ineffective assistance of counsel."
Among a host of other things to compromise me my tiral attorney had told; "Of you don't plea bargain (admit guilt) and accept the 'Compromise of the Misdemeanor' you will turn the court against you." What happened in a convoluted trial is that my own trial attorney worked actively worked to get me convicted.
Mr Olson was assigned to me through the public defenders office since I couldn't locate a criminal appellate attorney in Whatcom County and had been unemployed.. Mr Olson was the fourth lawyer through that office to work onmy appeal, the first three apparently being like interns. The first three worked with me but all were removed from my case.
As a Senior lawyer in that office Mr Olson finally told me after several years of stalling, "I don't want to work on your case because all you want to do is sue your trial attorney."
This wasn't true, I sought a level playing field when I went to court.
Mr olson later requested to be removed from representing me.
Although purportedly a criminal defense lawyer I believe Mr Olson was not willing to actually pursue a clients innocence.
