Scam!!

Scam!! Alesha should not touch family law with a 10ft pole! She is lackluster, zero initiative, uncaring, lazy to a T, unprofessional, the list goes on.. Don't be fooled, she seems great at first, then her true colors manifest. Backstory: I don't know the legal system to save my life, I needed a ch...amp in my corner, a fighter. It's been 2 years since I've seen my son (custody battle). At every turn, while I think things are happening behind the scenes on my behalf, Alesha hasn't lifted a finger. My son's mom, with no legal training, has been continously mopping the floor with her. Watching my case, especially for so long, and just being ok with keeping it "on the backburner" status, it's just inhuman! Im confident any other lawyer, I'd of had my son back a year ago. She charges the same, which is to be expected, but I've missed the 2nd and 3rd year of my son's life. It's the time I can't afford, I'll never get that back. I hope to spare the next victim from crossing her path

Took my money, reviewed my case and then said she would no longer represent me - kept the money

I was set up with Ms Struthers through the Moderate Means Program. I met with her and outlined in detail what I needed done in my case. She agreed to take me on as a client. I paid her an initial $500.00 and a week and a half later I received a package from her of all the paperwork I gave her at our ...initial meeting and she said she would no longer represent me. No work was done on my case other than her possibly reviewing my paperwork. I feel what Ms Struthers has done in my case is unethical. She agreed to take my case via the Moderate Means Program knowing I had limited funds. I met with her, she charged me $500.00 and afterwards said she wouldn't represent me.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
