I retained Ron Meltzer to help me on an insurance claim from an accident caused by a hit and run driver who hit me from behind while I was waiting for the light to turn green. Simple case - but The Hartford, my insurance company, had made serious mistakes, such as filing a wrong report that I was t...he driver at fault with the risk agency, had almost doubled my insurance premium, had demanded several extra dental estimates, and was trying to get me to accept a temporary bridge as a replacement for my permanent bridge. Or a partial denture. The Hartford was effectively trying to save money for Progressive, who insured the hit and run driver rather than protect me. Hartford never made any effort to get Progressive to pay for the accident. Ron's strategy to go after the responsible party and his insurance directly was successful. Mr. Meltzer was so patient when he represented me in a personal injury case last year. He took time explaining what was going on in my case and the legal system. He even met with me at his office on Saturdays when I could not get time off work to meet with him to discuss my case. Even his paralegal T...eri would come in on the weekends to meet with me. She was very smart and knowledgeable with medical terms and treatments and gave me excellent advice whenever I needed something. She even drove me to an appointment for an MRI, waiting there in the doctor’s office until I was done. She was also available to answer questions and even gave me her cell phone number in case I needed to discuss something when their office was closed. I really think Teri's name should be on the door right next to Mr. Meltzer’s name. They make a GREAT team. He is very professional and worked hard to get me the medical care I needed to heal. I felt like he really cared about me. He made me feel like my life mattered to him and I wasn’t just another number or dollar sign. I was very satisfied with his work and the results of my case. The end results were better than I could have ever hoped for. I was provided with the medical treatments I needed to get back on my feet. The insurance companies even tried to stop paying for my medical treatment before I was healed but, Mr. Meltzer fought hard and they ended up paying more than they would have if they just paid the medical bills in the first place. I have to admit that I was not a big fan of attorneys before meeting Mr. Meltzer and Teri but he definitely changed my mind about the profession. I don’t think I will be telling any more lawyer jokes.... instead, I think I will switch to doctor jokes because they treated me like a burden not a patient in pain. I would definitely hire Mr. Meltzer again but I really hope I wil not need to. Thank you.
