Biography
Carolyn Cairns is an arbitrator, mediator, and workplace investigator.
Prior to opening her practice as a neutral, she represented both employees and employers in a wide variety of employment matters, including race, age, religious, gender, national origin and disability discrimination, sexual and racial harassment, retaliation, wage and hour claims, covenants not to compete, contract claims and trademark violations. These cases have involved both jury and bench trials, arbitrations and settlements.
Carolyn is a regular presenter at seminars and employment law institutes, speaking on a wide range of topics, including mediation and arbitration, how to evaluate cases, substantive areas of employment law, and trial practice and discovery topics. For many years Carolyn was a co-presenter of the plenary session of the Employment Law Institute, reviewing key federal cases and trends of the prior year.
