The Gustad Law Group represented our daughter in her disability claims. This was a three-year process. Throughout the whole time they were professional, responsive, competent and caring. They explained the process to us and answered all our questions promptly. We were represented by Mr. Gustad. Due to his years of experience, thorough knowledge of Social Security processes and regulations, and diligent caring persistence, he was able to get us the maximum disability benefits to which our daughter is entitled, which we could not have done ourselves. I highly recommend the Gustad Law Group.

Mr Gustad took me by surprise. He called me on a weekend and made me feel like my life was worth his time, the following Tuesday's I called as I had not yet heard from his office as instructed. When I left a message asking why I had not heard from his office; he reply in an email stated, he didn't recall an appt to call. I wrote him back and soon he remembered and once I again I thought I was back on track. I have been sick for a very long time and he made me feel worthy. As time passed I asked for other referrals. At first I asked should I work with a national firm or local and he recmd local. He was kind enough to provide referrals for my other issues. One of the biggest he referred me to was a national firm who I had already spoken with. I'm big on ethics and when his referral was to the same firm I had already contacted, I asked if it was politically correct to change attornies within the same firm. i did not want to cause conflict. He stated its not and to give his contact a call. But within 5 minutes of speaking his contact was rudely telling me I had contacted attorney X and until I sent in the requested info to the original attorney there was nothing they could tell me. They said they would not know if it was a case they would even consider. I'm almost 1000% I have a strong case but ended the call very confused.
This is where my opinion of Mr Gustad changed. His assistant each time I called was short and made me feel like just answer my question and we will contact you. I could not ask questions and because of my health, the death of my little 2 lb yorkie with another in an ICU I missed two appointments with his assistant as I was not prepared. During this period I tried to explain the experience I had with 2 of his referrals. He went on the defensive and told me he had already expended considerable resources and needed to get the papers in. He let me know that each month I was late was another month of no benefits.
As an aerospace engineer, I'm trained to ensure I understand all the ramifications of my actions and asked several questions. But the one that stopped communications was when I asked about his 7/10 AVVO rating. They were very upset and I merely asked why these reviews were so upsetting. I believe I have a right to know who I choose, but Mr Gustad again went on the defensive and refused to answer any more of my emails until I filed my paperwork.
I have been very sick with zero income now for almost 3 yrs I've lost my insurance was denied my work disability. I planned for the worst as I had been sick for many years but was in remissions until I ended up after moving 6 times in 4 years. Working 80-100 HR/wh at times but when I was stuck in a hostile wk enviro my health took a very bad turn. I gave up my company for emply nenes but was denied. Thank god I had a bckup plan where I was able to survive until now. But since my opn her surgery in Dec I was hit with tragedy after tragedy and with no support sys I turned to help with the gov by contacting Mr Gustad my worry that everyone has turned their back on me and when I asked Mr Gustad questions he took it as an insult. So I began to wonder if he was right for me as he turned defensive and end with he refused to answer any more of my questions, and if I wanted his help to send in the paperwork. End of conversation. I went from thinking this man really cared. To feeling like just another fish on the hook and passed off to the staff and would be systematically processed and then packed in a file cabinet. I have no true idea how Mr Gusdad would of handled my case, but I believe an attorney should be beyond approach. And a req to understanding both good/bad reviews is not inappro. I'm not saying his answers or their statements would of changed my representation, but his quick heated response was not what I expected. $2,500/mo was not worth compromising my ethics. No question is a stupid question. Just ignorant clients.

Mr Gustad and his staff helped me with initially obtaining SSDI benefits and later a retroactive SSDI award of about $30,000 after his fees.
I worked for the Boeing company for about 22 years as a composites repair technician. I repaired aircraft parts for 747, 767, 777 and the latest 787 Aircraft.
During my course of work, I was exposed to various solvent fumes, chemicals and composites repair/bonding cure fumes. This is new technology.
In the latter years of my employment with Boeing, I developed severe headaches, dizziness, chronic sinus infections, and a few other medical issues.
I was later diagnosed through MRI scans as having temporal lobe sclerosis. Most likely from epileptic seizures probably caused by MCS, Multiple chemical sensitivity('s).
2 independent psychologist reviewed my work and medical records, Including EEG and MRI from 2 Neurologist,s One physiologists professional "opinions" that my condition most likely resulted from daily chemical fume exposure during my work at Boeing. Another independent psychologist hired by SSDI performed 2 days of mental tests an in her final notes commented my future prognosis was poor.
My treating neurologist performed several tests and made a diagnosis that overall my neurological condition is severe.
Mr Gustad represented me at a SSDI Administrative Law Judge hearing, He provided records and other information from my medical history to support my disability indeed did occurred back in 2010 when I was medically laid off by Boeing. He presented an excellent case to the ALJ that I qualified for full "Retroactive" SSDI benefits. After the ALJ hearing and review, The ALJ later awarded $30,000 in retroactive SSDI benefits.
I have to say, Mr Gustad and his staff did excellent work representing my disability.

Mr. Gustad provided excellent, thorough and professional handling of the appeal of the SSA's denial of our son's application for SSA disability benefits. He and his staff are all very knowledgable and courteous, keeping us promptly infomed of developments as they occurred. Highly recommend the entire Gustad Law Group to anyone needing assistance or just having any questions about SSA benefits.

Mr. Gustad reinstilled my faith in lawyers. He is sincerly commited in going that extra mile for those whom he represents. If I had a question it was always answered and if the answer was not familiar he had no problem doing the research to get me the answer. When I recieved my Social Security decision Mr. Gustad was as excited as I was because he knew the massive difference this would make in both my son and my life. Hire him I promise you will not regret it.

If you want to be treated with respect, sincerity, and professionalism, J-P Gustad is the lawyer that you need to hire for your case. I needed results in my social security disability case in a timely manner and got them. Go visit his office on Aurora Ave in Seattle, which is conveniently located next to the social security office. He and his staff were always courteous, straight-forward and answered any questions I had. As a Veteran who is currently getting paid my disability benefits, I would 100% recommend him as a lawyer.

I had begun to lose faith in our legal system and all lawyers until I met John-Paul Gustad. Mr. Gustad kept me well informed, handled my case and was able to get my disability awarded to me. He was very good about walking me through this intimidating process, was incredibly patient and answered all of my questions, was reachable by phone or by email and always returned calls and emails promptly, and was also able to get my disability back awarded, even though I had screwed up my appeal on my own. When John took over my case, I had no faith I would win--or anytime in the near future would the case be resolved. I was pleasantly surprised at how professionally he handled the case, how knowledgeable he was about the law and process, and how quickly the case was resolved. Mr. Gustad is everything a lawyer SHOULD BE. I would heartily recommend Mr Gustad to anyone fighting for their disability, he is truly a great advocate and very caring about his clients. You would be very glad you did, I sure was.
