I had a small but slightly dicey division of property to get through for my divorce, lots of emotional attachments, plenty of perceived mistreatment from my spouse, completely different takes on how to address things by me and my spouse. To me, it felt like there was not much common ground to work with and the outcome could be brutal. Kirstyn listened to my concerns but kept me focused on the realities of divorce law and with gentle assurance (tolerance?) refined it to the essential, effective points and presented it to the amazing mediator they like to use, who then got us to a sign-able agreement in short order. I am not the type of person that writes reviews, but this is the one review I felt I needed to write because I was going through a difficult time where I felt I was going to lose some thing very important, the most important thing for me: time/daughter= time with my daughter. I was able to find someone that helped me, so I feel people deserve to be helped the way I was helped. My ex- husband took me to court to modified the parenting plan we agreed on when we divorced. I consulted 2 attorneys before seeing Kirstyn, both of the attorneys told me that I was going to lose the case and that my ex- husband was going to get the parenting plan modified. After I walked out of the second attorney's office, I called my husband and told him I have lost hope. He told me not to. I started walking down the street and saw an attorney's office and just walked in. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, she told me a little bit about each of the attorneys there and I wold her to scheduled me an appointment with any of the attorneys there, however Kirstyn was standing there and I asked for the appointment to be with her. That morning Kirstyn had some time before her next appointment, so she was able to see me right away. I talked to her about my case, the same one I talked to the other 2 attorneys, however this consult was different, Kirstyn told me she was able to help me and that we had a good chance of winning the case. Some things I shared with the other attorneys that they felt weren't important, Kirstyn pay close attention to them and considered them to be important. I felt she listened to me the entire time, she looked interested in my case and I felt her willingness to help. She had some much knowledge about Family Law, she explained things to me, she was confident, and honest the entire time. We went over the attorney's fee and she told me she was going to work hard on getting the case dismissed to keep the cost down. I decided to hire her. My court date was coming up and there was little time to waste. Kirstyn told me the timeline and told me she was going to work on my case during the weekend to turned everything on time and so she did. Her communication from day one was excellent, via email or phone she was always available. I felt at ease and confident that she was going to win this. The court day came and Kirstyn was there prepared and ready. The commissioner ruled in my favor and cased was dismissed.
