Divorced after long ordeal

I had been falsely charged with domestic violence in May, 2019. Platt & Buescher was successful getting all charges dismissed. February of 2020, I had the good fortune to have Mimi Buescher take over my divorce. Mimi is a woman of integrity, she was looking out for me and the most reasonable ...outcome after a long ordeal. She drafted an offer based on the length of our short marriage. With a little time she convinced the other side to accept the offer. I was divorced April 2020. She is an amazing attorney with many years of experience, she knows family law, and knows the legal community on Island County… She is very persuasive and knowledgeable. She was able to bring a reasonable outcome to my long ordeal. I can’t express enough thanks to her and this firm. I most highly recommend her. Do not hesitate in seeking her representation. She made all the difference for me.

Very Attentive Attorney

This attorney is very sensitive to many things including trying to make sure she does not use up valuable time unless necessary. As I was going through my (contentious) divorce, she certainly was representing me, but as my son's stability was important to me, she listened and we tried to work togeth...er with the other side as best as possible to do what was right for him. I would recommend Mimi to anyone and she is very good at what she does. She is experienced and professional and keeps the client in mind. Thank you, Mimi!

Absent Minded - Do not use her as a lawyer

I was going through a very contentious divorce from my abusive ex husband. Not only was I needing custody of my daughter, I also needed child support. My initial consultation with Mimi was great. But things slowly declined after. Every time we met, she acted like we had never met. "Are you the one wh...o has the fireman husband?" No. When we served my ex with divorce papers, she sent the wrong ones. And had to back track and send the correct ones. She did nothing to tell me of the divorce process from a legal point. A bit of a overview of things to come - i.e. the discovery process, court, etc. I needed a lawyer who would reassure me and prepare me for what was to come. Mimi did none of this and still acted confused when I went to her with questions. Her intern knew more than she did and often had to correct Mimi. It was very scary using her because my ex did go out and hire a Wolf as his attorney. The biggest problem with Mimi is she forgot to make my ex take my name off the home loan. So, whereas he has the home and the debt, my name is still on the loan with no provision on a time frame in which he has to remove my name. This is a HUGE oversight I feel a lawyer should have told me about. My ex just laughed when I asked him when he might remove my name from the home loan of 80k. I went to Mimi trusting her to do her job and fight for me. She didn't. WA state laws fought harder for me than she did. Do yourself a favor and take your money to a lawyer who knows what they are doing.

She is the best!

I am very grateful to Mimi Buescher. When I found myself in the process of a divorce, I was so shocked that I couldn't process any information. On the advice of a friend, I hired Mimi Buescher who agreed to work with me on very short notice. Ms. Buescher was amazing--she told me exactly what to do, g...ave me excellent advice, and redirected me appropriately when I got off track. She worked like a maniac for me, and responded immediately when I needed her. I felt completely protected and supported. Her passion for her job is contagious, and she was a terrific role model for me throughout the divorce process. She has a great understanding of people, and because of her calm and reassuring approach, she was able to diffuse some very difficult issues that came up in my case. She also made sure I had excellent financial advice and psychological support, and connected me with the best people in the business, which enabled me to mediate a very favorable settlement under extremely adverse circumstances.

Highly competent & very responsive

Mimi is an excellent lawyer and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking divorce or family law services. She assisted me with my divorce this year, and thanks to her hard work, the matter was settled as smoothly and as quickly as possible. I personally prefer email communication to phone calls ...and meetings, especially because I have a busy travel schedule. Mimi was excellent to work with over email, kept me up to date and was highly responsive to all inquiries. I felt like I was a top priority for her and that she cared about the case.
