I worked with Michele on many occasions over the years, and I have great respect for her. She and I were among founders of the Washington Coalition for Open Government, one of NFOIC's many great state affiliates. But when Michele and I first met and had an occasion to collaborate, I was an executive with the Seattle P-I ( Post-Intelligencer) and she was a bright young litigator for the law firm that represented my crosstown rival, The Seattle Times. My respect and admiration for her abilities were strong then, and those perceptions have never waned.
Michele Earl-Hubbard is a principal at Allied Law Group, LLC in Seattle. She has been named the Best Lawyers' 2014 Seattle Best Lawyer of the Year for First Amendment Law and is listed in Best Lawyers in America for First Amendment Law and First Amendment Litigation. She has handled numerous cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts and administers hotlines for several new organizations on media law subjects. She is also a frequent presenter at seminars and CLEs on Washington's open government laws, the Senior Editor and an author of the WSBA's Public Records Act Deskbook, and is a contributing author and editor of numerous other open government resource books. She is also a founding and current board member and former president of the Washington Coalition for Open Government, a former member of the National Freedom of Information Coalition, and the Washington State Freedom of Information Delegate for the Society of Professional Journalists. She obtained her J.D. from Northwestern University and her B.A. in Journalism from San Francisco State University.
Michele is one of the brightest and most expert attorneys that l have ever worked with, either as a client or as a collaborating professional.
