Margaret Fitzpatrick review

Margaret and her paralegal are either sick. Their family is sick or they are out of time for long periods of time. They both have random phone numbers that they call you with one of them always says unknown. They want to meet with you for four hours at time to review things that have already been di...scussed at meetings prior. I have not had one invoice from Margaret Fitzpatrick that states where my $10,000 went. When I asked for an invoice, she said that they always send them on the first of the month. Why couldn’t she just send me an invoice at that time? Scary. I have been scammed. I received notice from my ex-husband‘s attorney that she is not representing me. I’ve tried to contact all of the telephone numbers that I have that came from Margaret or her paralegal. I have not received any response though she is my acting attorney for the next 13 days. I called their office and I was hung up on.. I placed a review not less than five minutes ago and it was taken off. I am definitely going to be seeking legal retribution and keep my review posted even if I have to continue to post it every two minutes. They claimed they have clear communication and empathy to relieve your fears and anxiety on their website, but that is the complete opposite from the truth. I beg you do not go here. You will be told to do a whole bunch of things that traditionally are needed but when you send these items via email, they will come back and say to you, they did not receive them. Margaret typically will say she did not receive them because her paralegal is sick. I was on the phone for three hours, explaining that I had already sent all the information she was saying I did not send. I resent the emails that I sent her while we were on the phone. When I looked back at my emails, they were proved to have been sent to her originally. I have all of my emails still and every single message from this office stating my facts above to be true. I hope you read this for your mental and physical health. Do not go here!!

Billable hours trump ethics for Fitzpatrick

Trusting Margaret Doyle Fitzpatrick was a damaging and costly decision. She pushed me to file an inflammatory declaration and then refused to help me have it destroyed or redacted. She told me repeatedly it could not be destroyed. She refused to propose an idea for settlement, refused to review my... proposed settlement, and then dropped me as a client after billing me for over $20,000 of hours. After dropping me as a client, she continued to bill me for work on my case until my retainer was depleted. I strongly caution anyone against working with Fitzpatrick. She is reckless and unethical, and will not think twice about taking advantage of an emotionally charged situation, all the while assuring you she is doing the right and necessary thing.

YOU WANT HER ON YOUR SIDE!

Margaret can go up against any lawyer / layer-commissioner in the area. She is as good as it gets. She is not only a powerhouse of an attorney - she is ethical and kind - a rare combination of fearless, brilliant, and human. Doesn't get any better! I have used her against one of the highest paid... divorce attorneys in Seattle and she proved herself stronger on each issue and willing to go the extra mile to support what was right and good for kids each time.

Former client

There truly isn’t enough positive worlds I could say about Margaret (and another attorney she worked with at the time...Sally Yates). Their expert advice during a highly challenging divorce was immeasurable. I’m truly grateful!

Respondent Representative in difficult multi year Degree of Dissolution and Appeal

Margaret represented me on several occasions related to a very troubling divorce. In response to the unhealthy, aggressive approach taken by the other party and their legal counsel Margaret provided well thought out, documented, and appropriate responses. Those responses, and motions brought to rei...nforce our position won the day in the Superior Court of Washington and in the Court of Appeals Division One of the State of Washington. The legal findings were the best the court system was able to achieve and maintain given the circumstances. Beyond the legal aspects I found Margaret's perspective and advise excellent. Margaret helped protect my young children, retain primary custody and the house for us to live in. Since the divorce the framework of mediation established in the parenting plan has provided the basis for conflict resolution in 12 followup mediations without having to engage the court system again. If you have a tough case needing great representation. If you need someone understanding, capable and willing to go the distance. Margaret is who I recommend to all I know.

"I represented the respondent husband charged with Assault 4 'DV'. Margaret represented him in family court on a dissolution occurring at the same time. I observed her in depositions and in court. I was awed by her bravery on behalf of our client, with pretty bad facts. She was passionate and forceful with her convictions to the court, and opposing counsel. She got a great result for our client, which made my role much easier. She did a wonderful job, and I hope to be able to work with her in the future. I strongly endorse her !"
