Immigration Status was on Hold for Years

My client's application for adjustment of status was on hold for over five years on ground that he briefly traveled to one of the "State Sponsors of Terrorism" before he came to the US. In about six mo ... nths after I took his case, he not only got his green card but also his date of residence is counted not from the date of approval of his application or date of issuance of his Green Card but as of the date if his first arrival . And, therefore, he was able to apply for citizenship on the day after he acquired his lawful permanent residency status. On hold for years, LPR for a day, USC for the rest of his life …. Big win !!!
