Gerald Martin Pollet

Gerry is Director of the region's leading citizens' group working for the cleanup of the Hanford Nuclear Reservation; and, runs an Environmental and Open Government Law Externship program for law students. Gerry has extensive experience in the complexities of hazardous waste regulation and cleanup law (including as co-author of Washington's cleanup law, and deep involvement in WA's hazardous waste rules). Gerry is a frequent lecturer on hazardous waste law and also advises independent clients.

Open Government law, including federal Freedom of Information Act and WA Public Records Act. Numerous cases and advising clients. Gerry serves on the Board Executive Committee and Legal Committee of the Washington Coalition for Open Government (www.washingtoncog.org). Gerry is a frequent guest lecturer and presenter at legal education conferences on open government law.

Gerry drafted and led the successful efforts to pass some of Washington's most important environmental, consumer and whistleblower protection laws prior to becoming a State Representative (46th District, 2011). Gerry also has extensive litigation experience in open government law, working to promote public access to public records, and is a frequent lecturer on Open Government law in professional education courses and regional law schools.
