Biography
Shawn Butler joined Helsell Fetterman as a litigation associate in 2013 after earning an advanced degree (LL.M.) in Health Law from the University of Washington School of Law.
While in law school, Shawn gained experience supporting the firm’s defense litigation as a fall associate and also completed internships with the Federal Trade Commission and Social Security Administration.
Prior to law school, Shawn served in the U.S. Army as a military intelligence officer and Army Ranger, where he was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. Shawn left active duty in 2008 and began law school at the University of Washington in 2009. He earned his J.D. in Spring of 2012 and LL.M. in Health Law in Fall of 2012.
Shawn graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelors of Arts in Russian and has lived in Russia. He speaks conversational Russian.
