Client was charged with 3 counts of homicide and 2 additional counts of Assault with a Deadly weapon for shooting 5 individuals in his front yard with MAC 12 type semi-automatic weapon. Client cla ... imed he was acting in self-defense as to 4 of the 5 people and that he did not shoot the fifth person. At the first trial he was found not guilty on the murder charges, but the jury was unable to reach a verdict on the remainining counts. At a second trial the jury was hung on all charges. After the second trial the client agreed to accept a new plea offer from the state which resulted in credit for the time he had served in jail awaiting trial with no additional jail time imposed.
