Meghan Lacey

I am a case manager in Seattle for unhoused people. Meghan was the public defender for my client. In my experience, usually public defenders will encourage a plea deal to speed up the case and move things along. My client was innocent, and Meghan believed in him. Meghan had immense compassion and pat...ience throughout the entire process for my client, and agreed to take his case to trial. I attended the trial daily because I believed in my client’s innocence too. My client didn’t always make it easy on Meghan or I, he actually fell asleep a few times during the trial. She did such a good job that despite the jury seeing my client fall asleep in his chair more than once, they found him innocent. This was one of the most incredible experiences of my career. Meghan is an ally to her clients, she is extremely thorough, and she goes above and beyond for her clients.
