Never saw the discovery drafts; no-showed a call; withdrew four days after the motion was approved

Holly Priest was the discovery attorney on my Pierce County divorce at Dellino Family Law Group in 2026. The firm said it "typically" sends clients a draft of the discovery requests before serving them; that never happened, and I first learned what had been asked of my spouse when her answers arrived... in July. The first substantive discovery conversation I had with Ms. Priest was August 4, two months after the requests went out. Her strategy email to me in July referred to my wife as "he" throughout. She no-showed a scheduled call on July 24 by fifteen minutes (I waited on the video link, then dropped), and a later walk-through call was rescheduled by the firm because her schedule was "jammed up" — and the rescheduling was billed to me. When I asked a basic question about why my responses both objected and answered, the reply was "It is my responsibility and I make the decisions on those." On the invoices I have she billed more hours than my attorney of record. She served her notice of withdrawal on October 9, four days after I approved the motion documents the firm had been preparing since June. If you work with her, ask for the discovery drafts in writing before they go out.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
