I consulted with a few family law attorneys in the Seattle area for my divorce case, and I chose Heritage... thanks to Avvo. Unlike other attorneys, Heritage seemed to truly care about my case, and provided prompt attention to my questions (in-person, phone, email). Her rates were also very competitive. You want an attorney who not only knows gives you the best advice, but also someone who you can work with during a stressful situation, and does not waste your time. Heritage is that person. In my case I was able to do some of the work on my own like drafting the petition, going to the court to file paperwork, and other clerical work. What I needed was a lot of advice upfront on navigating the divorce process, how to serve the summons, and reviewing my paperwork to make sure I did things correctly. Heritage was super flexible on this, and by taking on bunch of the low-value work, I saved myself hundreds of dollars. Just a heads-up: the waiting area in the office looks...old and boring, so if you are looking for a fancy office with a water fountain, this is probably not it. But don't let the looks of the waiting area fool you - Heritage is an excellent attorney, and worth every penny!

I have been through an unbelievable ordeal. Another lawyer (that doesn't do family law) recommended her to me. Heritage defended me on two important, life-changing legal events. I am not exaggerating when I say that without her able defense my life would have been ruined. I went through a terrible divorce. I have never had to go through any contentious legal issues and so this was all new. She provided me with an understanding of the process and provided a strong defense. She really is the best. It is nearly impossible to describe our family's experience with Heritage without sounding as if we made it up. She has literally saved our family. We were in desperate need of guidance and support in developing and requesting an Emergency Temporary Parenting Plan as a result of bio-mom’s substance abuse. My wife and I met with her regarding my then 11-year old. At first, she wasn’t sure if we had a case for it. But, as she got to know the situation, and the serious safety concerns my 11-year old was being exposed to, she worked tirelessly to achieve what was best for our daughter. We were awarded Temporary Custody thanks to her hard work. We then worked for 14 months to get bio-mom to take accountability for here actions. She refused. And, as uncommon as it is, we ended up going to Trial for the Permanent Parenting Plan. By the grace of God, and Heritage’s knowledge and commitment to a JUST outcome, we were awarded full custody. Not only that, but bio-mom has a phased plan as to how she can spend more time with our daughter as she progresses in her recovery which is all we wanted to begin with. ALSO, she was able to prove bio-mom committed serious intransigence (drawing out the process intentionally) and we were awarded back child support, all fees we paid for the professional supervisor, pro rata share of medical care, AND 60% of our legal fees because of this. While it is unlikely bio-mom will ever pay these fees, the fact that Heritage was able to prove intransigence, and have the court award us these fees was incredible. Because of her, our daughter is SAFE and happy, and bio-mom has a court order to be clean and sober and has a plan to accomplish that. We can’t say enough about Heritage, honestly. We wish we could do more than thank her, pay her and write a review for her. Thank you, Heritage. You are incredible.
