Mackenzie Wieburg’s practice focuses on elder law and the representation of hospitals in the initiation of adult guardianships/conservatorships for their patients. This includes working with various entities such as the WA State Department of Social Health Services, Home and Community Services, Office of Public Guardianship, and various certified professional guardians. She was admitted to practice in the State of Washington in 2021.
Mackenzie received her Juris Doctorate from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in 2021 and graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Law, Societies, & Justice and minoring in Political Science. During her time as an undergrad, Mackenzie played on the University of Washington Women’s Basketball Team. During her tenure, this included an NCAA Final Four appearance during the 2015-2016 season, a first in program history!
During law school, Mackenzie worked within the public-law sector, working as a law clerk for the Civil Division of the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office. In her second and third years of law school, Mackenzie served as a judicial extern with the Honorable Mark J. Kappelhoff of the Fourth Judicial District Juvenile Court in Hennepin County and the Honorable Michael J. Davis of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. After passing the bar and being admitted to practice law in the State of Washington, Mackenzie joined the Misdemeanor Division of the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office before discovering her passion for Elder Law and Guardianships with Fox Ballard, PLLC. Mackenzie then became an associate of Brothers Henderson Durkin, P.S. in December of 2023.
Outside the courtroom, Mackenzie spends much of her free time on a different court, where she is often playing basketball with her husband and reliving her former days as a student-athlete.
