When your family life is in upheaval, the legal process can feel like one more thing pulling it apart. My job is to steady that.

I've practiced family law for more than two decades — divorce, parenting plans, custody, child and spousal support, property and business division, and later modifications. It's the part of law where I get to know the people I represent, not just their case files, and that's why it has stayed at the center of my work all these years.

I start with you, not your documents. Before I draft anything, we sit down together so I can understand your situation and how you want your life to look once this is behind you. Then I lay out a plain, concrete plan — what we can do, and where we begin. Most people feel the ground steady under them once they can see that plan.

I work to resolve matters without unnecessary conflict, and I know how to be in a courtroom when a case needs it. My background also reaches past family law: I've handled criminal defense and personal injury matters, and I spent years on asylum, refugee, and removal cases with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project. So when a family matter overlaps with a criminal issue or an immigration question, I can help with the whole picture instead of sending you to start over somewhere else.

Away from the office, I'm outdoors — snowboarding at Mission Ridge in winter, on the Columbia River in summer, and camping with my family each fall near Ellensburg. I read a lot of history. And the line I come back to, in work and in life, is one I often share: if you're going through hell, keep going.
