Robert Gregory Chadwell

During his 31-year career, Bob Chadwell has earned a reputation as a talented criminal defense attorney. His legal practice centers around criminal and civil law with a special emphasis on environmental issues, white-collar criminal defense and securities fraud.

Since founding McKay Chadwell in 1995, Bob has established a strong clientele requiring his unique combination of strengths--his ability to handle nearly any legal problem involving state and federal government coupled with his compassion and support for every client. He was selected by the American Trial Lawyers Association as one of the 2008-2009 Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Washington, Washington Law & Politics Magazine named him one of the Top 25 Criminal Defense Attorneys in 2009, and he was chosen as one of the Best Lawyers in America specializing in white-collar criminal defense in 2009 and 2010. Bob has been named a Washington Super Lawyer every year since 2003.

In the last several years, he has represented individuals and corporations in the criminal arena, with clients ranging from an oil company executive in an environmental investigation (no charges were filed), a prominent stock broker charged with tax fraud (who was acquitted at trial), an international construction company in a government contracting fraud investigation (no charges were filed), and an internet based company involved in the sale of unregistered securities (case was resolved without criminal charges against the company by a unique settlement with regulators). On the civil side, his clients have included a chain of businesses run afoul of the State's Consumer Protection Act to an internationally known clothing manufacturer seeking to protect its trademark from infringement by a counterfeit manufacturer.

Chadwell is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Washington State Bar Association. Bob’s charitable support includes the American Diabetes Association, the Virginia Mason Diabetes Center, the Nature Conservancy and the Methow Conservancy. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Thomas C. Wales Foundation, an organization that encourages citizens to become involved in their communities, and engaged in fulfilling their responsibilities as citizens.
