Mr Leavens is my mother's lawyer. My mother has dementia and Mr Leavens has her power of attorney. In an agreement, Mr Leavens committed to provided my brother and I financial reports quarterly (bank statements, stock brokers statements) so we could monitor my mother's financial situation. I have had to chase Mr Leavens every quarter to get this information. Did they not teach him at Harvard to honor commitments and legal agreements?
Mr Leavens has instructed the staff at the assisted living facility to stop providing health information on my mother to my brother and myself. We are no longer told when she falls and is injured. Mr Leavens is just being mean.
I have no idea why Mr Leavens, this high-powered Harvard-educated corporate litigator is representing my mother, and does things like send me emails regarding airport pickups. The legal business must be slow in Seattle.
Mr Leavens has certainly charmed my mother with dementia, but she complains that he does not return her calls, cancelled her last lunch meeting and did not reschedule as promised, and is hard to get hold of.
Theresa Schrempp, Litigation Attorney
Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
Mr. Leavens was my opponent a number of years ago regarding a litigated estate. His knowledge and experience in estate matters is extraordinary. He is a real professional who enhances the status and standards of the legal profession. I endorse him without reservation.
