John B Crosetto

John Crosetto is a litigator at Garvey Schubert Barer with experience representing clients in disputes over trademarks, trade dress, licensing, trade secrets, domain names, and non-competition agreements. Mr. Crosetto also advises clients, from software and hardware companies, to equipment manufacturers, video game companies, and creative firms on minimizing litigation risk and finding alternative solutions to intellectual property disputes.

Mr. Crosetto was counsel in UtilX Corp. v. Novinium, 2009cv00375 (W.D. Wash.), which involved patent infringement, false advertising, and unfair competition claims, as well as anti-trust counterclaims, related to methods for underground cable rejuvenation by fluid injection. He also acted as counsel in Rosetta Stone, LTD v. Topics Entertainment, Inc., Civil Action No. 1:09cv1128 (E.D. Va.), a trade dress and trademark case in which the parties disputed rights to the color yellow for language learning software packaging. Mr. Crosetto acted as lead counsel in Strategic Marketing Partners, Inc. v. Greenwave LLC and Northwestern Brothers Marketing LLC, No. 10-2-09469 (K.C. Sup. Ct., Wash.), a dispute related to gaming software based on the television series Deadliest Catch.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Crosetto, who has a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, taught language, literature, aesthetics, and critical theory in the Department of Germanics at the University of Washington and the University of Colorado.
