I had never hired a lawyer before, so I was happy to get a recommendation from my neighbor (and real estate agent) to contact Yen. I was in process of purchasing land directly from a seller, also something I had never done before. I contacted Yen and she quoted me a reasonable flat rate to review ...the materials and an hourly rate for items that go beyond the initial scope. I sent her a few dozen pages of paperwork that included some of those old county records that have been photocopied ten times. Yen pinpointed and very clearly explained problems, suggested solutions (including language to use). She did this pretty much overnight—despite it being a vacation day for her. She was available by phone to talk, but the advice was so clearly laid out that I was able to request all changes that, in the end, protected my interests in the sale. I was already very happy with the process when, after the land sale, a question came up. Yen looked into it, offered another round of advice, gave examples to help me understand opportunity versus risk on how to proceed. She waived the fee even though I know she took time and offered her expertise to help me. What can I say except all raves?
