Detrimental to case

He works for the court system, not his client. He ignores facts that will get the case thrown out. If a government actor lies, he will not question them. Period. My child was taken without a court order, probable cause or exigent circumstances. The social workers lied on court documents in order ...to take my child. John convinced me to sign an agreement 5 minutes before court that said cps didnt have to prove their allegations against me. He handed me to the enemy on a silver platter. This man has no soul.

Lamborn's malpractice cost a defendant her right to a trial

I hired Lamborn after a friend of mine had been tricked into signing a plea agreement for charges that were not supported by evidence and for which false statements had been given to the police and DA. We asked Lamborn if my friend could withdraw the plea agreement. John Lamborn said we could not.... When I asked him to explain, he became beligerent with me and ordered me from his office whereupon he closed his door and scolded my friend for questioning the local court system. Mr. Lamborn receives many court appointed cases from that court system and the lawyer that provided misleading advice that resulted in my friend's accepting the plea agreement is a personal friend of Mr. Lamborn. Mr. Lamborn's claim that my friend was not allowed to request that the plea be withdrawn was not true. As a result my friend did not attempt to withdraw the plea until only a day before the sentencing hearing and basing it on the lateness of the request, the judge denied my friend a trial.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
