J Christian Malone

Christian Malone is a civil litigation attorney and the founder of Bristlecone Law in Bend, Oregon. With more than 15 years of local experience, he represents clients across Central Oregon and the state in matters involving real property disputes, real estate transactions, construction issues, HOA conflicts, contract matters, business litigation, and appeals. He is known for his principled advocacy, careful analysis, and practical, cost-effective solutions.

Christian manages every case himself, providing direct communication and tailored strategies from start to finish. He guides clients through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal, always focused on what best meets each client’s needs. While fully prepared to litigate when necessary, he emphasizes practical resolutions, clear communication, and straightforward advice so his clients can make informed decisions with confidence.

He began his legal career at the Oregon Supreme Court, clerking for Chief Justice Paul J. De Muniz and Associate Justice Virginia L. Linder, experiences that gave him a strong foundation in legal reasoning and appellate practice. A graduate of Willamette University College of Law, Christian has been licensed to practice in Oregon since 2005 and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.

Active in the legal community, he has served on the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates, the Oregon State Bar Disciplinary Board, and the Civil Justice Improvements Task Force, as well as in leadership roles with the Deschutes County Bar Association. Outside of his practice, Christian enjoys exploring national parks with his family, writing and performing music, and serving on the Board of the Cascade School of Music.
