I have been practicing Family Law in Oregon for 30 years. My goal is to help clients fine a life after divorce and to protect the children during this very difficult time. I like to combine strength with compassion in every case. While I am a very effective litigator, my real goal is to fine a solution prior to going to trial.

Excellent lawyer and counsel
Mr. Funk had already looked up my divorce and did his research before I even set foot in office. He went to work when I scheduled my initial visit over the phone. It's never a good feeling to be sued by your ex for more money months after the divorce was finalized. Mr. Funk was able to reassure me ho...

Arrogant with little social skill shown in consultation
I only had a 1 hour consultation but at the end of that it was clear that Richard Funk was not the lawyer for me. He either was having a bad day or just seemed to lack people, listening, analytical and judgment skills. I assume he must have some of these to have been employed as a lawyer for so lo...
I am truly sorry you feel that way. Not every lawyer is a good fit for every client. I represent client's I feel I can help to achieve their goals. I do not take clients just because they have the funds to pay me. Just because I did not agree with you and what you wanted to achieve, this does not mean that automatically my judgment and analytical recommendations were legally flawed. There are certain people I do not believe are a good fit and to avoid problems in the future, I decide to not represent them. If you are the person I think you are, I chose to not represent you for the good of both of us. My 30 years of experience tells me we would have ended up in the future just as we did at the end of your consultation.

Great Lawyer
Mr. Funk provides a common sense approach to family law. In addition to being well versed in the law, he also understands the intricacies of dealing with closely-held businesses, highly compensated individuals, and more complex financial issues.
"I endorse this lawyer. Richard Funk has years of experience. He has held leadership positions within the family law bar. I appreciate his skill level and also his common sense. He really helps his clients see the issues in their case. I find him professional to work with and he has a great sense of humor which helps in divorce work."
