I was very lucky to have been taken on as a client by Mariah at Baxter Harder. Already going through a difficult time battling cancer, my spouse decided to divorce me. After being blindsided by my ex's attorney and knowing it would be difficult to handle legal issues and figure out custody of my chil...dren on my own I knew I would have to hire legal counsel. Mariah was amazing, she made such a scary and intimidating thing seem a lot easier. All of the staff at Baxter Harder were exceptional helpful and professional. Went to her because she was recommended for domestic violence and because she was a woman, thought she would have some understanding. Felt like all she cared about was money. Handed over custody not understanding the devious nature of the other party. She is not educated in domestic violence enough ...or high conflict exes and the controllers that go after credibility. She had no clue what was going on in the case so much so she handed over custody in a very simple abuse case, by giving more time it ment we were ok with the abuser. I looked like a fool in court several times, walking in completely confused and unprepared. Helped make the case more complicated for someone to take over. Also was completely played by the other parties attorney. Now there is a huge mess to clean up and child is in serious danger. She also over charged me and couldn’t account for it. She needs more experience and compassion for her clients and their children.
