Beware of overcharges
We retained this attorney in a child custody dispute. The original fee quoted was $2,500; however, after charges for every phone call, photocopy, etc., and then court time, it ended up a total fee of $10,000 and the case was never settled. Replied last June 27, 2014It is easy for another attorney who has not reviewed the billing to deem that you were overcharged. Based on your comment and the work you have explained, $10,000 on an hourly fee agreement including trial is not an unreasonable fee.
