Wisdom, integrity and professionalism

Matt Longtin has been practicing family law in Lane County for over a decade and I have worked with and against him over the years, in various contexts and in varying 'degrees' of contested cases (the good, the bad and the ugly). Matt consistently exhibits the highest degree of professionalism, stra...tegy and knowledge in his legal practice. I have always found him to be prepared in terms of knowing his case, and having a firm grasp on the facts and the law. He engages alternative dispute resolution and collaborative law whenever it is to his client's benefit and his client is willing. I greatly appreciate Matt's pragmatic problem-solving approach in cases, and his realism in terms of cost-benefit analyses. He is mindful that, in family law, the cost-benefit analysis includes not only the economics of a case , but the personal / emotional / family-dynamic costs as well.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
