This is a copy of the same review that I left on Google. I hired Justus to handle my divorce in Lane County that was finalized in December of 2019. I was satisfied with his representation in every way. Financially, the divorce was relatively complex in that my ex-wife was a federal employee and s...o there was a 401(k)-type instrument involved (a TSP) and a federal pension involved (FERS) that both needed to be split. Justus fully comprehended the somewhat complex and arcane financial aspects and got me pretty much exactly what he represented he would get me during the initial consultation. Another complicating factor that Justus handled well was that I was in Pennsylvania while the divorce was pending. He had no trouble handling it remotely for me and I never had to come back for Oregon for anything. So I never actually met Justus face-to-face but he was extremely effective despite that. He always returned my calls and e-mails within the same day. His billing statements were transparent and fair. He was aggressive when I asked him to be aggressive and his advice was always practical and fair. I was a lawyer myself at one time in Utah and did some divorce work. I have to admit, he was a much better lawyer than I was. I also know from when I practiced law that there are a lot of bad lawyers out there and it's often the case that you can spend a lot of money and get very little. Justus is the exception to this. I felt that I got every penny's worth from what I paid him and I thought his fee was reasonable. He was always patient and at times held my hand when I was very anxious about the whole thing. Excellent communication, professionalism, knowledgeable, confident, and calming to talk to. His staff was also friendly and helpful with all of the annoying document things. Probably most important, in the end, I think he got me the best financial settlement that I could have gotten in my situation. I really can't say enough good things. He truly helped me through a very difficult time and as mentioned, was always very responsive and thorough. It's now 10 months later and I am very glad that I hired him. He was impressively familiar with both Lane County procedure and even the individual judges and always told me what to expect. I would highly recommend him without hesitation to anyone who needs a divorce attorney in Lane County. If I could give him six stars, I would.
