Child Custody Suit

After my wife passed away I had a custody claim put against me by a family member from my wife’s side. I met with Mr. Weyer and he walked me through everything that could happen and what the possible outcomes were. I had never been into trouble before or been a bad parent to my son, Mr Weyer was real...ly good at assuring me that we were going to be alright. He spent countless hours on my case and would check in frequently telling me where we were at. The thing I liked about him was that he didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear, he always advised on what he believed was best. He is really good at representing his clients in the court room. I had never testified before and he did a really good job at keeping me calm before and after I testified. All of Mr Weyer’s hard work paid off because we won our case entirely and I was able to move on with my life reassured that I had 100% custody of my son. I would definitely hire Mr Weyer again. He has incredible knowledge about Family Law.

look elsewhere

I had Mr. Weyer as an attorney when I started my marriage dissolution. His Bio stated he was well versed in restraining orders. I was up against my abuser who used to court system as a power and control tactic to gain custody of my child. On several accounts Mr. Weyer stated he had other court cases ...to attend and could not attend my hearing. he did not say anything about rescheduling, I represented myself. I later found out about an emergency hearing from the DA, his office did not notify. It was the night before and I found out about 9 o'clock at night that my hearing was early the next morning. I ended up losing custody of my daughter. When I expressed my frustration, he told me "To get my life together". There was one point where He was on speaker phone with me and I'm not sure if he thought he was on mute, but I was shocked at what I heard going on in the background, very unprofessional. when I came in for a meeting before my hearing early in the morning, he was very defensive and agitated to the point he was yelling and getting after my family who were my witnesses. This happened almost every time i conversed with us. When i decided to fire him he said I had $200 on my $5500 retainer. I got slapped with charges he should have represented me on. I then asked him for an itemized bill. His office stated they had been mailing them out. I said I said if you mail anything to notify me and I would pick it up in person. I asked what address they mailed it to, they said the address and it happened to be the address of the person I am divorcing and going to court against. I switched law firms. I thought because he was working at BOB MCCANNS OLD OFFICE those things would have been different. I switched to IVERS and MILLER. I got everything reversed. Every hearing my attorney has attended. They even showed up to my hearing while DHS was involved, just to support me. They have not once acted as if my questions were invalid, or I was annoying. Which was Mr. WEYERS constant attitude everytime we communicated.
