I was in the foster care system at age 17. I worked with Miss Yeoman until I was 21. Being a teenager in foster care is not easy especially when your bombarded with a lawyer, Casa DHS worker, etc.. It’s a lot to take on, and I wasn’t necessarily all for having these people bombard my life. But even a...fter the first time I spoke with Ellen and my DHS worker I knew that I was being listened to and heard for what I had to say. That alone met so much coming from a home that never listened to a word I said. I was provided resources by Miss Yeoman to reassure me I was safe.
