As a part of estate planning, the use of trusts (both revocable and irrevocable) can simplify the estate administration process and avoid the necessity of a formal probate proceeding. Trusts are an ideal choice with long-term family distributions and carrying out charitable intent on the client's timeline rather than the artificial timelines imposed by a probate proceeding.

Choice of entity is an important decision when starting a company, or converting from one type of entity to another. Additionally, creation of non-profit organizations, and obtaining tax-exempt status at both the state and federal levels is a creative part of my practice.
