I hired David to handle a dissolution. His handling of it was so poor I ultimately fired him and hired another attorney where it was finished within a week, compared to the 'no end in site let me keep dragging it out and charging you approach' Mr. Owens had. I should have known when we started, I... asked to have communications handled through email several times, which he ignored instead choosing to send all communications via snail mail, which guess what, costs more money and takes more time. Once I got my new attorney, I was shocked that he had all of these ideas that never even occurred to Mr. Owens, or maybe they did but it would have wrapped things up too quickly! After he was fired he hit me with a final f-- you bill that was clearly out of line so, my new attorney negotiated a settlement for it for which I paid, or better said, OVERpaid. Recently while refinancing my house, I found Mr. Owens falsely submitted me to collections for not paying this final bill. I had to go back to the 'A' list attorney I ultimately went with, to prove we had negotiated the settlement and he was indeed paid. Luckily their were records of it and it was cleared. This man should not be practicing law because he plays on your emotions just to make a few extra bucks! I would never hire him again nor recommend him to anyone wanting a speedy conclusion or cares about how much this attorney is milking them for. I paid him thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing but frustration, no conclusion, and a sneaky gift on my credit report several years later.
