I am licensed to practice law in Oregon, Washington, and California. My hobbies include trail riding with my Appaloosa ("Joey"), fishing, skeet shooting, crossword puzzles and working on the family ranch in California during "time-off" from work. I have three sons and am married to my college sweetheart (nearly 21 years. Although I have been licensed to practice law since 1993, I shifted my law practice to focus exclusively on education and disability law-related issues when one of my sons was diagnosed with a disability.

Our First Call
This is the second time we have called on Lana for help with our son. He has autism and is on an IEP with the school district. Once with ESD when he was 3 years old, now with the School District and he is 14. Lana made sure she connected with him which I did not expect and it was a very welcome ges...

An Incredible Asset on Behalf of Children
Lana Traynor is a true professional. In this line of work, where families are desperate for help, Lana provides open and honest information, and support in an unfamiliar area. She knows her law. She knows the educational system. She knows children with special needs. She knows families. When you hir...

Skilled and compassionate special needs education attorney
I hired Lana when it became clear to me that educating myself on the law and being firm yet polite with the school district was NOT enough to compel the district to follow the law and provide adequate services for my young gifted son with Asperger's. Lana's advice helped me to sleep through the nigh...

Tireless child advocate
I have worked with Lana for over 7 years. She has been a dedicated and tireless advocate for my child while forging postive working relationships with the district. "We regularly refer education matters to Lana knowing she has the right combination of tenacity in the law and a love for kids that gets great results!"
"I highly recommend Lana. I researched education and special needs attorneys for a series of major litigation issues we had potentially coming before a number of clients from a school. Lana was perfect for the job. Her compassion, passion and insight into education law was an awesome fit for the team. I relied on her knowledge on the education law pieces and she worked well with me on the pieces I controlled. I would team up with her again any day."
