Melanie Gillette

Melanie Gillette focuses on commercial liability defense.  Before joining Smith Freed Eberhard, Melanie was a litigation attorney at a small civil litigation firm in Seattle, Washington.  There, she worked on both personal liability defense and plaintiff’s personal injury matters during all stages of litigation.

While earning her Juris Doctor at the University of Washington School of Law, Melanie served as a legal extern to the Honorable Ronald B. Leighton of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.  She was also a law clerk in the Civil Litigation Section at the Oregon Department of Justice in Salem, Oregon.  Melanie was a member of the International Human Rights Clinic, as well as served as an Associate Editor-in-Chief for the Washington Journal of Environmental Law and Policy.
