We learned 3 things about Brett Engel. 1) He practices law to make him and his associates the most money possible from you; not to represent your best interests. 2) He likes to instigate an environment of anger, disputes, and dysfunction between you and the other side; rather than try to negotiat...e in good faith to achieve the best outcome. 3) His work is often sloppy, late, and full of errors.

Brett began the divorce by sending letters to my husband's attorney viciously attacking my husband as a father and person. He did not fully tell me until after he did it. I was upset. I did not want war. I simply wanted to reach agreement on 4 things: division of marital assets, child custody, sp...ousal support, and child support. I asked Brett to stop. Of course they responded. Instead of restraint, Brett viciously responded. The result was Brett caused numerous rounds of unproductive and expensive ugly attorney interactions that destroyed trust and hurt our ability to work out agreements. Brett was primarily focused on fighting with and "defeating" the opposing attorney. Representing me to help reach agreement on the 4 items was a much lower priority for him. It was an expensive ugly disaster.

Brett E. Engel's tactics will harm your children, you, and your ex. He creates a scorched earth environment that unnecessarily escalates conflict and drives up his fees. Children are just inconsequential collateral damage to him. While he is selling you to be his client, he is an eloquent ta...lker that presents an air of confidence. Sadly, after you hire him, you slowly learn he isn't that competent and makes routine mistakes. My ex's attorney ran circles around him which did great harm. I was sorry I didn't have my ex's attorney. Live and learn.

Mr.Engel is a waste of money and will only make your case worse! He will try and pinch every last penny he can by over charging, not communicating, and refusing to represent ethically on the matter. Not only did I waste my entire savings with this guy but he resigned before it even mattered. My Ex w...on everything and I was left high and dry! Don’t worse your time, Mr.Engel is about himself and does not represent his clients in good faith. I suggest using someone else absolutely on all matters!

I hired Brett for a divorce matter and not only did he drag the case on for way longer then it needed to but he made sure to have it cost as much as humanly possible. He lost me everything and then proceeded to tell me it’s the way it is. Awful lawyer and does not represent his clients in a decent ma...nner. Skip over Brett, you’ll be very thankful you did!
