A must read

Ernest was my court appointed attorney on a coercion charge.I was in custody in county for 3 months before he even made contact with me.He refused to take a single phone call from me during the entire 4 month stay in county (even though i was paying for phone calls). Communication was next to none.Er...nest lied to me on most occasions about what was going on.Would barely communicate with my family who tried to talk to him.I had a very valid defense to my case , all that needed to happen was provide the da my medical information , but it didnt happen.Ernest was a dishonest person and a barrier between myself and the court.Due to Ernest my voice could not be heard and i got railroaded into a 14 month prison sentence. While i was in prison my 18 year old daughter died just 3 months prior to me coming home under tragic circumstances.I contacted Ernest after i got released and was surprised to see he answered his phone because he stated to me i was his last case then he was retiring.I explained the consequential tragedy that happened while i was in prison and my resentments towards his lack of effort and inability to be due dilligant as my attorney. He was highly disrespectful and yelled at me over the phone calling me a liar and that i was just mentally crazy was the problem. He also shifted blame on my mother for not providing him with my medical records from the hospital. That was not her responsibility.A grieving father who lost his only child , Ernest was the most disrespectful and unproffesional adult ive ever seen regarding his attitude and lack of concern.I am following up with a complaint to the oregon state bar.I was even informed by the partner that rents Ernest office space that it was unfortunate i got stuck with Ernest as my attorney and he understood why i wanted i different lawer. These are all true and actual facts.Ernest is the worst attorney i`ve ever had any dealings with.I must live the rest of my life without my little girl over a situation that could have been much different if i would have had a attorney that simply worked with me.Its very likely my daughter would still be alive if i had been home.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
