Shawn M Lindsay

I am a business and intellectual property attorney. I'm also a former member of the Oregon State House of Representatives. My experience includes representing clients in the following areas: software and commercial licensing; establishing, acquiring, transferring, and preserving intellectual property rights; business entity formation and structuring; business transitions and successions; mergers and acquisitions; privacy and security; and government relations. I'm one of the few attorneys in Oregon who has passed the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ (“IAPP”) Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (“CIPP/US”) exam.

As member of the Oregon Legislature, I established a reputation as a problem solver. For example, as co-chair of a special redistricting committee, I was instrumental in passing a redistricting plan, something that had not been done in over 60 years in Oregon. As an attorney, clients have called on my skills to assist in negotiating and resolving complex matters with both private and governmental entities.

I have have lived in Spain and speak Spanish fluently. Outside the office, I'm a skier, cyclist, and political junkie. I enjoy studying history and foreign languages and competing in triathlons.
