In New York I represented JCPenny, Arlen Realty & Development and various commercial property owners. I suceeded in more than 2000 landlord/tenant cases. In Hawaii, I have successfully concluded numerous property disputes including quieting title and easement issues. I successfully shutting down an illegal bed and breakfast operation in Lanikai and prevailed in the ICA on appeal. (Cummings v. Roth) Settled wrongful death, sexual harassment and trolley accident cases.

As and attorney and counselor, the latter takes priority in family cases. Although avoiding litigation is my goal, most folks end up in battle. I try to achieve the best result for the least cost. Sometimes the opposition prevents that. I am too well familar with the intransigent litigant as I was a party to an 11 year Hauge Convention case finally ending when the United States Supreme Court denied Certiorari.

My general practice includes practical pre-litigation advice. I prepare basic wills and trusts, powers of attorney, business and realty contracts. I have handled airline disputes, lemon law problems and an assortment of every day problems. In automobile or premises liability sitiuations, I promote settlement without suit and regret we live in so litigious a society. My undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia was earned under the Honor System. My word is my bond.

Conducted many jury trials in the USDC, District of Honolulu before the Honorable Sam King, Susan Mollway, David Ezra, Helen Gilmor and Barry Kurren. Successfully argued the implementation of the "Zone of Danger" theory of liabillity in the 9th Circuit before Judge King. Achieved seizure of vessels through the U.S. Marshall's Office to satisfy unpaid judgments. Primary practice is under the Jones Act.
