Do not hire her for your own good!

My children and I had the most Horrible Experience hiring Michele Chess/McCoy. We were enthusiastically asked for a Large Retainer and Payments, while she deceptively lied to us about how she would do her best for us! Michele Chess/McCoy failed to: 1. Provide copy of Retainer Agreement 2. Provid...e ANY Detailed Billing Explanations on a monthly basis. We signed on with her in Feb. 2014, received Final and Only Bill in August 2014 3. Commiserated with Opposing Party for hours in person and via phone calls, while charging us. Showing Sympathy for Opposing Party due to her Laziness and lack of Ethics! 4. We signed a Motion on June 3rd 2014 to be filed in Court, Michele Chess/McCoy DID NOT FILE it until JULY 22, 2014! TOTAL Disregard for doing her sworn DUTY! TOTAl INCOMPETENCE! 5. Does not COMMUNICATE! RARELY , RARELY received call backs when we tried to get a hold of her! 6. Total lack of following through with anything regarding the job she was hired for. 7. Total Lack of Attention to Any Detail! Too busy Stealing Honest People's Hard Earned Money. 8. Never went to a SINGLE COURT HEARING! That's what we hired her for and where she said she would represent us to her full ability. 9. Dropped us Flat on our faces at a most Critical Time in our case. Professional, Ethical Lawyers complete their ongoing cases, they do not run away in the middle if it. 10. Low Scope and Level of legal Expertise! 11. Did not return any MONEY OR RETAINER for Work she did not do! 12. She did not earn the MONEY SHE TOOK ITfrom us! We were, Taken to the Cleaners, Raked over the Coals, Run through the Wringer, And Left out in the Cold to Dry!

Read This Before Hiring Michele E. Chess' Poor Services!

Michele E. Chess is more than incompetent as an attorney! I don't even know where to begin with this. How about a quote from Michele E. Chess? "The only winners in court are the attorneys because we get paid!" We first hired Michelle E. Chess because she seemed to understand our situation and she wa...nted to motion for an Emergency Hearing to stop my child's visitation with strangers. We had to pay her $3,500 before she could file for the Emergency Hearing. We got right on it and paid her ASAP. Along with this Emergency Hearing we also asked that background checks be completed on everyone who would be around my 3 year old daughter and that she request all the transcripts from our previous hearings so she would have an idea during court when someone changed their story or lied. As time passed we asked Michele E. Chess about the Emergency Hearing and Transcripts when she replied with a poor excuse which was that the court "personally called her and told her that they were not going to grant these to her." Finding this hard to believe we double checked with the court ourselves and NOTHING had EVER been submitted from Michele E. Chess for an Emergency Hearing or transcripts. She lied twice right to our faces even before she knew us, my daughter or our case! As far as the background checks, we received them 2 days before our trail date. By then my daughter had been living with strangers for almost 3 months. There is ZERO TRUST for her! As far as responsiveness, I have PROOF of WEEKS going by without her communicating with me. I would call 3 times a day, everyday, just to hear things like she is off island or I'm sorry but she has left for the day. Id leave voicemails to call me back, messages with her accountant, emails, etc. anything and everything. We were only given her office phone number for she doesn't give out her cell. Anytime she would respond to me would be on a late Friday evening probably because she is off on the weekend. All her communication was via email. We finally got so sick of what she was doing to us that we wrote a poor review on her. She immediately called us asking us to remove the review, that she apologizes and that she was going to get going on our case. She had the nerve to tell me that she admits to biting off more than she could chew, taking on too many cases at once and that she wouldn't blame us for asking for our money back! We removed the review and things were good for a week then she fell back into her same routine. Again no communication for weeks at a time! From day one she never let us tell her our side of the story. Anytime we tried she would just be real rude and cut our conversation off and say that that wasn't important and that finance is what we needed to focus on during trial nothing else. To this very date she has no clue what our side consists of so my question is, How can you defend something you know nothing about? After our trial we met with Michele E. Chess at her office to talk about the outcome. During our conversation she had told us that she had been talking to her "friends" who were teachers, about our case to get there opinions. When telling her that the court told us Michele E. Chess never filed for the Emergency Hearing or Transcripts her response was that that was in the past and that we have to move on where we are now. This is just the tip of the iceberg folks! This has been nothing but a nightmare! She kept our $3,500 while never supplying an invoice. I know the outcome when using Michele E. Chess and would hate for anyone to go through the same thing. Think twice and use someone else!
