David Alan Morris

As a member of Bays Lung Rose & Holma’s litigation practice group, I concentrate my practice in business, real estate, land use, construction, and complex commercial litigation.  Prior to joining the firm in 2019, I gained experience with a smaller firm representing developers, contractors, landowners, and clients in the communications, energy, and public utility industries, advocating for agency approvals and advising on regulatory compliance, transactions, and policy matters.  As a result, I have experience with regulations, transactions, and environmental matters common to these industries.

I graduated cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law, where I served as an Outside Articles Editor for the University of Hawaii Law Review and earned CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Federal Courts, Real Property, and Constitutional Law.

Prior to and while attending law school, I spent over a decade in engineering, operations, and marketing roles in the communications and technology sector, most recently as a product manager with Hawaii’s largest communications provider. I hold a B.S.B.A. with a major in Computer Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University and have taught Management Information Systems at the University of Hawaii – West Oahu. From this experience, I am knowledgeable in product development and marketing, financial management and accounting, cybersecurity and privacy regulations, and technology procurement and outsourcing.
