Amy Lawson Woodward is an associate at the Law Office of William H. Lawson, concentrating her practice in the area of plaintiffs personal injury litigation. Prior to joining her father’s firm in 2016, Ms. Woodward practiced law at Carlsmith Ball LLP, in the firm’s Honolulu office. At Carlsmith Ball, Ms. Woodward’s practice focused predominantly on litigating commercial disputes, however, she was also part of a team of lawyers that defended one of the firm’s largest national clients in personal injury matters. This personal injury defense experience inspired Ms. Woodward to join her father’s practice, and to litigate on behalf of plaintiffs who have suffered life-altering injuries.
Before practicing law at Carlsmith Ball, Ms. Woodward also externed at the Hawaii Supreme Court, the United States District Court in San Diego and the United States Circuit Court, Ninth Circuit. Ms. Woodward received her J.D. degree magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of San Diego School of law, where she was in the top 2% of her class. While in law school, Ms. Woodward was a member of the University of San Diego Law Review. She received numerous scholastic awards including CALI Excellence for the Future Awards (awarded to the highest grade) in her Contracts, Constitutional Law I, Professional Responsibility, Corporations, and Conflicts of Law courses.

Amy was awesome
Amy and Bill were helpful and prompt and they helped me through a difficult time. I was very pleased with the outcome. If anything else were to ever happen to me again, I would certainly return to them. They explained in depth how the claims and recovery worked and they made it easy to understand ...
"Amy Lawson Woodward is brilliant, kind, and caring attorney. Amy is thoughtful and precise in everything she does. She thinks about legal issues from all perspectives, and anticipates all possible outcomes. This makes her an effective attorney and a fierce advocate for her clients. I highly recommend Amy's legal services."
"Amy is an exceptionally smart and hard-working young lawyer. She obtained 3 years of clerking experience at a law firm in Santa Barbara before enrolling in law school. Once there, she excelled in her law school class at USD (top 2%). During law school, she interned for a 9th Circuit judge and for the Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court. She now practices law in the litigation department of one of the best law firms in all Hawaii. Superior ability, successful results and great insight - Amy is a remarkable woman and lawyer."
