Experience handling most types of criminal defense cases in Hawaiʻi. As a former Public Defender I've handled a lot of traffic, DUI, abuse, and felony cases as well as juvenile criminal cases. My specialty are criminal defense cases.

I've worked on DUI (OVUII in Hawaiʻi) cases for years; from first offenses to felony DUIs. Akamai Law handles both the criminal and administrative aspects of DUI cases.

As a former Deputy Public Defender, I handled literally thousands of traffic cases over several years. Akamai Law specializes in criminal traffic matters such as excessive speeding but we no longer handle speeding infractions (3DTI on the ticket).

Akamai Law handles domestic violence cases including abuse of a family or household member and violation of TRO cases. These includes cases both within the Family District Court (non-felonies) and Family Circuit Court (felonies).
