A worker fell from a wobbly scaffold during the renovation of a SoHo apartment, falling to the floor some six feet below. He sustained a fracture to his right hip, which required surgery; injury to hi ... s spine, which required surgery; and a tear of menisci to his right knee, which required surgery. Frank Eskesen, attorney for the plaintiff obtained summary judgment on liability on behalf of the injured worker, leaving only the question of injuries and damages for a jury to decide. The defense counsel conceded that the hip injuries were related to the accident, but vehemently argued that the injuries to the spine and knee were unrelated to the accident. Shortly before the trial of the case, the parties reached a settlment.
