Kelley Ray Carroll

I joined Porter Simon in 1991, after practicing in San Francisco. I am certified as a specialist in the areas of estate planning, trust and probate law by the California State Bar's Board of Specialization, and hold an advanced law degree (L.L.M.) in tax.  I have also earned the highest rating, AV, awarded by the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell organization. This rating is reserved for attorneys whose legal skills are judged to be "very high" to "pre-eminent," and whose ethical standards are "very high."
  
I am a board member of Sierra Senior Services and the Friends of the Truckee Library, and am a parent advisor to the Sierra Mountain Soccer Club.   I am a member of the State Bars of both California and Nevada, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, as well as a variety of State Bar sections and local bar associations in both California and Nevada.

I was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated in 1982 with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. I received my law degree in 1987 from the King Hall School of Law, University of California at Davis, and also received a Master's degree in 1987 from the Graduate School of Administration, University of California, Davis. I later completed my L.L.M. degree in tax law from McGeorge School of Law in 1992. I and my wife, Paige, reside in Truckee with their daughter, Emma, and son, Peter.
