Attended law school at Georgetown University and tried two felony criminal trials as athird year law student. At law school opening statements, cross examination etc were video taped and critiqued. Upon obtaining my law degree, I was first admitted to practice law in 1981 in the Commonwealth of Virginia and two years later to the bar for the District of Columbia. In 1989 I was admitted to practice law in California. Am admitted to all state courts in California, as well as admitted to practice before the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Caliironia, Norther District of California, Central District of California, and Souther District of California as well as to the Circuit Courts of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit as well as the D.C. Circuit. Also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.
I have litigated cases in state and federal courrts for over thirty years, having tried cases in Virginai, Florida, Texas, California, Washingto state, Missouri, Georgia, and Hawaii, much of which was while working for the U.S. Department of Justice until 1988.
I have represented hundreds of criminal defendants on appeal only in Sacramento as well as in Los Angeles, and have represented hundreds of persons at the trial level charged with almost every conceivable crime. This includes murder, manslaugher, possession, transportation and sale of controlled substances, arson, spousal abuse, felons in possession of firearms, DUI's, assault, battery, and a host of other crimes. .

"I am a family law and estate planning attorney. I often have clients that request referrals for criminal law attorneys. I include Bill on my referral list. I have found Bill to be an excellent criminal law attorney with a great deal of experience. The clients I have referred to him have been very pleased with his services. He is able to clearly communicate with clients and obtain favorable outcomes for them."
"Bill Duncan is a very experienced and competent criminal defense attorney. Although I am an experienced civil litigation and transactional attorney, I do not practice in the area of criminal defense. I feel confident, however, in referring any inquries I receive in this area to Bill's capable hands."
"I had the opportunity to work with Bill on an important case. Bill has a wide range of experience in several areas. He works efficiently and is accessible to his clients. I work with lawyers from all over the country, and I consider his judgment and advice to be among the very best of lawyers anywhere."
