Biography
I have a background in real estate finance and managed a thrift and loan before attending law school. I started my legal career with a mid-sized (50 attorney) firm in Fresno California, where I practiced in business, real estate, and estate planning law. I returned to my hometown, Paradise, California, in 1994, and formed a partnership (Travers & Rank) with my stepfather, Donald Travers. I became a certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law, as certified by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization, in 1998, and have been a sole practitioner since 2000. I have a support staff of four, including two paralegals. I represent a broad range of clients, including farmers, business owners, professionals, and retirees. I am a past president of the North Valley Estate Planning Council, and past president of the Rotary Club of Paradise. I have done various presentations to legal and charitable organizations on issues related to estate planning, elder law, and estate administration. I am committed to my community and my clients. I have three children, all of whom have attended or are attending University of California campuses, and a longtime marriage with my lovely and supportive wife, Sherry.
